Gua Sha

Gua Sha uses a stone to scrape the skin to ensure that qi is circulating smoothly. The technique improves local circulation by moving blood, lymph, qi and other vital fluids. It reduces pain in muscles, especially around the neck and shoulders where tension typically builds and breaks up scar tissue or adhesions in the muscles and connective tissue. It is great for C-Section scar repair and also works well for athletes with tired and stiff muscles. It is an important tool for respiratory health as well and can be used as a first line of defense if a pathogen is starting to express itself and we feel like we are starting to come down with a cold. As fluids start to build in our nasal passageways, ears and eyes, guasha can be used to break up the fluid accumulation. An everyday scraping of your neck and face is not only popular right now as a healthy skin ritual but also a preventative measure for health!
